We really loved this at our game, added a lot of fun and a bit more interest to rolling a Nat 20. Would recommend for other gaming groups
Anton Kritsun (verified owner) –
Cards are great quality and make the game more interesting and quicker than coming up with stuff on the spot.
Chris –
Definitely spices up combat.

Having separate Crit Hit decks for players and DM is a smart Idea. Monsters don’t last forever, players do. Also the multiple levels of cards to make sure they are not to punishing is a great idea.

Love these cards!
Adds a lot of content to your games and will cause a lot of epic moments! Everything from setbacks to deadly critical hits with various effects like blinding, stun etc.
Nice touch to have different effects on different types of damage; slashing, piercing, bludgeoning and spells. Also great with keeping Players and monsters as separate decks!
If you are like me, you want to sleeve the cards for better durability and card size is 63×88.
(Nord Games please add these measurements to descriptions, it helps people like me 🙂 )
This is almost a must if you ask me and you wont regret buying these cards!

Ordered these cards from the UK. Firstly, very impressed at how quickly they arrived. Secondly, they are an absolute must for every DM. Add an extra element to the game that helps to spice it up. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
jpiekoszewski (verified owner) –
Really cool cards. Use them all the time instead of regular crit hits. Was using them both for and against my PCs and my monk punched a guy so hard he forgot one of his languages. A+
MissCass (verified owner) –
I love these crit decks! The effects seem fairly balanced and I really appreciate having them divided by severity level so I can remove the more powerful effects at lower levels.
alan.parker (verified owner) –
It really made our last session more exciting. First card our DM drew was for quad damage on another PC.
Hyperbeast (verified owner) –
I pulled out these cards and they were completely surprised by the Quadruple Damage from the Deadly tier. They were shaken to the core!
Toonkid –
Creating a crazy and fun element to a standard game of Dungeons and Dragons, this deck will keep players on their toes when you say those magical words, “I rolled a critical”. DMs will find this to be well worth the money to spice up game night. I don’t regret breaking this out whenever I run something of my own.
hadoftw (verified owner) –
Similar to the other Nord critical decks, these cards come in multiple ranges of severity. You can influence what kinds of events will come up by removing the undesired effects before any cards are drawn.
Soulspinner (verified owner) –
I love this deck. It gives meaning to a NPC’s critical hit. The possibility of permanent damage, like losing an eye, puts a edge of risk into the game for the PCs. Now they have to worry about being Crit just like they do to the NPCs. Players get more invested in the fights, instead of being bored or distracted waiting for their turn. I highly encourage DMs to add this to their tool kit along with the other Crit/Fail decks.

These cards allow me to add some extra drama at the table whenever I roll a nat20. Everyone always holds their breath to see how bad the outcome is.
Blackheartbouvi (verified owner) –
Added a lot of options for me to torture my players. Great deck.
Jsetzler (verified owner) –
High quality cards. Love the deck, great options for GMs. Definitely makes the game more interesting.
Paul Koenig (verified owner) –
Bought these for my DM (Bribe?). Add just enough chrome to the game for a little fun. Nice that pull cards by level.
raphael02 (verified owner) –
Definitely makes rather stale critical roles into something more interesting!
ilta (verified owner) –
These are a lot of fun and well worth the investment. Sometimes it’s a little hard to track the ongoing status effects in the heat of battle, but having a character bleeding or slowed by a lucky monster hit makes for significantly more entertaining fights than just applying max or double damage.
wsarazin –
Great flavor for groups, but the best part is being able to split them up by tier so that your players don’t get hit by a quad-damage crit at level 3!
birdless (verified owner) –
These definitely add some higher risk/more opportunities for interesting role play to the game, and free me up to focus my creativity/attention on other things while the combat is raging.
jerelder (verified owner) –
Adds some flavor to your game. Art and text is great, wish the PDF had a table of contents.
Vyrelion –
Again, great concept and good quality, it was my first kickstarter.
However i found they tended to slow the game down a bit so i ended up not using them.
Luxtenebrae (verified owner) –
Look great, and feel great when I slam that 20 on a PC when they get mouthy! Make’s things a lot more interesting. Especially with the Setting of the Dragonlords. Pc’s needed to have some fear!
info2 –
Fantastic addition for any GM to do to their players when the mob they fight hits with a Nat 20!
I use the deck in my game and they get very nervous when I take the deck out!
Must have addition to your gaming table!
caelumira333 (verified owner) –
Quality cards and some of them quite brutal.
darkangel8898 (verified owner) –
I love pulling these during crits it makes a fun change to just hitting harder when you roll a crit.
ckell –
D&D 5e critical hit rules are bland. This set of cards has great, (not over-powered) critical hit effects that are fun. The ingenious thing is the DM’s deck and the Player’s deck are different. This make sense since player crits will seldom need to be lasting effects. Great addition to my table!
Blackheartbouvi (verified owner) –
Love these. Having my party roll for their punishment is a blast. Have the cards but love the book. Much more engaging.
bruno –
These make crits REALLY fun for the DM!
RDPray –
This has been a great enhancement for our combat scenarios – either for the player to receive damage or to dole it out. I can grab a card at random (or have them do it) and then roll a die to get the specific damage off the card.
Jehrid (verified owner) –
Awesome Product! Very Helpful while running a game
Jehrid (verified owner) –
I didn’t like using the damage rules presented by the game as a DM, so I honestly fudged my monsters due rolls or would just do a flat max 1 die damage if they rolled a crit. Now that I have this deck I have plenty of other fun things to throw at my players other than the standard “more damage”
Desknight (verified owner) –
Let’s be honest, “I do more damage” is B-O-R-I-N-G, so now you can have simulations for shock, getting crippled, or invoking other status effects. Each tied to a different type of damage so you have 4 choices on each card to ensure you’re not locked into an awkward RP scenario.
Good quality, well thought out, worth the purchase.
Patrick McLaughlin (verified owner) –
I don’t use it often, but if a villain is in a fight, over that of say a minion/monster/simple combatant, and that villain lands a crit, I’ll pull this out.
Johnnycool18 (verified owner) –
This deck is less useful than the Player Crit Deck. I like the variety provided by the different damage types. Sometimes the magic one does not make sense depending on the spell cast, but you can modify the results to match the spell cast. Keep an eye on the severity to make sure not to murder new players.
KingCheops (verified owner) –
Can really set the PCs on edge. Is a good way to make combats a little deadlier for the players.
JD (verified owner) –
A solid expansion to combat. I bought the pdf, and the table for the cards is hot-linked, so it works great!
JD (verified owner) –
Great addition to the game!
Spiorad915 (verified owner) –
I got these out of pure curiosity, and now i can imagine playing without them. They have added many interesting moments to our fights. Much better than just doubling damage dice.
Greg Trombley (verified owner) –
I love how the cards are listed by severity so you can tone down the death total if needed.
Kyle Rose (verified owner) –
I love them but am very scared of what will happen when I (the DM) get the don’t lose your head card.
vnavone (verified owner) –
We’ve really enjoyed using these in our campaigns. Sometimes I feel a bit guilty inflicting the extra suffering on my players, so I always use these in conjunction with the crit deck for players! My main complaint is with the graphics and layout. The text can be a bit hard to read, it’s not easy to identify the correct damage type on the card, and the card backs don’t tell you what deck it is. This can be a problem if you also have the crit for players and critical fail decks, as we do. I also wish they used the same damage types as the crit fail deck for consistency. Other than that the quality is good and the bonuses enhance play.
FilthyPeasant (verified owner) –
Great for making combat absolutely terrifying.
steier82930 (verified owner) –
I originally bought these as a digital purchase. The players and I like and use them so much, I decided to purchase the physical deck. Very fun addition to our game. As with any game, these decisions are table bound and can change group to group.
Brandon Martin (verified owner) –
I own all three of the critical hit/fail decks and it is only fitting that the DM has his own bag of tricks. It is very balanced with the other decks and really rounds out having all three. Having the physical deck to draw from works must better than another d100 roll, but regardless, it is a great expansion to the typical critical hit rules.
Ivo de Almeida (verified owner) –
A great way to add more content and chaos , in a good way, to your game combat.
TankDroid0620 (verified owner) –
My players are terrified of, but also love the flavor, this critical combat deck brings. This deck can leave them in so many predicaments and situations they didn’t think a regular attack could put them. The only thing I wish was that I had a PDF copy so since I play mostly online.
Dwayne Hartin (verified owner) –
These are so fun to use. I bought all 3. The DM fail, Player fail and crit. My groups get excited to roll % on natural 20’s from these and even have to roll on 1’s lol. Mistakes happen!!
