Dangerous Destinations is a system-neutral sourcebook for building the perilous places adventurers actually go, and it is the sequel to Spectacular Settlements. This is the premium hardcover edition.
Here There Be Dragons
A settlement is somewhere to rest, shop, carouse, and pick up a quest. A dangerous destination is the opposite: a place most sensible folk would never willingly go. Without danger there is no adventure, and this book is about the places where the danger lives.
Four Builders That Combine
Every destination is assembled from four pieces. The prelude sets theme, what was here before, and how much of that presence lingers. The destination type is what kind of place it is, with chapters for burial grounds, camps, fortresses, headquarters, hideouts, outposts, religious sites, religious structures, residences, settlements, small locations, and watchtowers. The environment covers aquatic, coastal, desert, extra-planar, forest, jungle, mountain, plains, swamp, tundra, underground, and urban. The danger covers beasts and unintelligent monsters, events, humanoids, intelligent monsters, items, and magic.
Each chapter hands you off to the next, so one pass through produces a coherent place rather than a pile of unrelated rolls. You can also use any single chapter on its own, so if you already know it is a bandit camp but not how the camp is laid out, just use that chapter.
Antagonists Built on Jungian Archetypes
Two chapters of personality profiles, one for humanoids and one for intelligent monsters, built on the twelve archetypes developed by Carl Jung: Lover, Hero, Magician, Outlaw, Explorer, Sage, Innocent, Creator, Ruler, Caregiver, Everyman, and Jester. The humanoid profiles stay grounded and relatable; the monster profiles run deliberately extreme.
Seventy Pre-Generated Destinations
If you need a place tonight, Part Five holds 70 finished dangerous destinations across all twelve types. Each comes with an illustration, a write-up of its story and key elements, a colour map of its key locations on a one-inch grid, and, unusually, the complete list of roll results used to make it, so you can see exactly how the builder produced that place.
Three appendices round it out, including a creature appendix organised by environment and a useful tables appendix in the Spectacular Settlements tradition.
Why the Hardcover
This is a book you work through with dice and notes in front of you, flipping between four sections in a single sitting. The hardcover lies flat, takes tabs on the chapters you use most, and never needs charging.
Where It Sits in the Series
Wondrous Worlds builds the realm and the region. Spectacular Settlements builds the town. Dangerous Destinations builds the single perilous site your party is heading toward.

Wonderful ttrpg supplement! I’ve purchased nearly all of your books, and will look out for new releases.
It is VERY in depth on how to create epic destinations. The art is very nice as well. Very neat book
The book is amazing, ultra detailed for planning campaigns, but also great for coming up with places on the fly - artwork and book in general is stunning as well
Great layout and content. So many well designed lairs and lots of random tables
