The Character Generator is a digital Oracle RPG module for creating NPCs and characters in tabletop roleplaying games, a system-neutral inspiration tool for game masters, storytellers, and writers. Its simple and dynamic design allows for maximum versatility and detail in a minimal number of rolls.
Chapters are separated into 5 categories of character based on their status, including Heroes & Champions, Merchants & Artisans, Nobles & Clergy, Townsfolk & Travelers, and Villains & Scoundrels. Each chapter contains tables to identify a character's Role, Personality, Motivation, Flaw, and Intrigue. Combining these five concepts together, you'll end up with a unique and well-rounded character every time you use it. You can also mix and match results from different chapters as you see fit for even more variety.
How It Works
Every detail works the way a rollable table does, except you tap a button instead of picking up dice. Take the random result or choose the option you want, detail by detail, until the character is finished. It runs on mobile, so you can build an NPC on your phone during prep or generate one at the table when players talk to someone you had not planned for.
