I have done a quick look thru, read a handful of the characters, and I must say I am impressed! Definitely more useful than just stat blocks (though some well-thought out “monsters” to throw at your players if that is all you need). I would definitely love to see this line expanded into cityfolk, thieves’ guilds, secret societies and conspiracies… the options are endless!
Plus the staff are super quick to respond and solve problems (even ones that this customer made for himself!). So thanks, gentlefolk, and keep up the awesome work!

As a DM preparing his group for a war campaign, this book will come in handy to help populate my world!

Very well formatted and the artwork is brilliant. the stat blocks themselves are well balanced, with only minor mechanical errors like being able to fire a crossbow twice in a turn. In 5e this isn’t possible if it was a player character, because of the loading property, but as an NPC it makes sense because of the average damage output for the CR. It also means that stat block is consistent with others, which this supplement does a good job of.
The descriptions of the organizations are informational and more than enough to give you a feel for them. Just using one paragraph of many to describe a mercenary company gave my players the right picture, and left me with plenty of secrets to weave into the plot.
The NPC stat blocks, descriptions, and relationship between them and the organizations work well, an I find myself using them to quickly flush out NPC’s or borrowing heavily from the “generic” NPCs for adventurers and soldiers alike.
Definitely recommend, and if there is a digital version available I’d buy it again for intergration into my VTT!

This book is a fantastic resource for 5e. Lots of interesting characters to use (stats provided at multiple levels) and tons of NPCs that can be thrown into a campaign.
I only have one minor gripe and that is, in the description of this product it says that this is compatible with 5e AND Pathfinder. However, unless I’m missing something, there are no Pathfinder stats to be found. May want to update the description.

I have used a number of these NPCs in my games and they have been absolutely fantastic. I especially love the generic NPC section. They make a grate basis along with the skulduggery book to build military organizations and add depth to armies.

Much like the Skullduggery version these multi level ready to go NPCs are a huge help for a busy DM, either to be used as is or as inspiration for your own characters in your campaign. Well worth the cost.

Awesome for a quick set up for NPCs! Been a huge help for the test run I am doing of solo/duo runs for my group’s personal stories. Easy to tie all of the characters in!

Backed this Kickstarter after finding skullduggery so essential at my table. The “minions” statblocks at the back of the book are even more broadly applicable in this book than those found in skullduggery (and that is saying something). The NPCs detailed here are a little less essential for me than skullduggery was for my thieves guild campaign, but I’m absolutely certain Mercy will terrify my PCs at some point at the very least.

I love this book. It’s so nice to have a variety of NPCs that I can use instead of having to roll up everything from scratch.
The only downsides (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) are that (1)there are a lot of the same classes where I’d have preferred more variety and (2) I’d like to see more character development/explanation besides just the ones for levels 1 and 4. For some of the NPCs, those two are plenty and I know how to play them when I pull them. For others, I have no idea and it makes it harder to use any of the presented backstory (and for just the stats, I can use the separate item that has the stat blocks/player sheets at different levels).
I do love the extra generic humanoid stats at the end of the book, though.

Nord Games is quickly becoming my favorite third party source for 5e.
This book like all their others is excellently formatted and full of flavor. I’ve already used a handful of these NPCs and they’ve taken on major roles in my campaign! I highly recommend for anyone looking for some high quality plug and play NPCs.

The NPCs themselves are well written and excellent and I greatly look forward to pillaging them next time I run a war campaign. Outside of this most of them can be slotted into other styles of games with a few tweaks.
Greatly useful however are the generic stat blocks for Guards, Knights and Soldiers, making those town guards interesting to run and fight with…or against. A useful tool to save time and make your world a little more believable,

This book focuses on martial characters who deal with battle as part of armies and other military-style groups. It begins with a large encounter table for all of the characters in the book, which is always going to be handy. The characters are arranged in good, neutral, and evil sections, and each section also has a writeup for four different guilds.
Each character has a stat block four every four levels so you can just pick them up and toss them in just about whenever the PCs might encounter them. There’s also some history, roleplaying tips, and brief fiction scenes about encountering them. The different versions take up one page, and the PDF is well bookmarked. In short, it’s laid out like other Nord character books (which is not a bad thing!).
Characters are drawn with various poses and attitudes, which is great for quick inspiraion. I love Alma Cropley because not only is she an older character with gray hair, she’s a veteran halfling and looks the part. Private Bowlde is adorable as the clumsy soldier who’s a better chef, and I know I could make him stand out in a heartbeat. Seriously, the art was worth every penny they spent on it.
This book stands out in that it is almost balanced between male and female characters; there’s only one more male character than female. They’re also shown in a variety of roles.
I also really appreciate the later section which has stat blocks and encounter tables for generic NPCs like guards and mercenaries. Some unique items and spells round out the book and are thematically in keeping with the focus of the whole thing (which comes in at 225 pages).

I hate to admit it, but NPC’s are not my strongest asset when it comes to games. This is very useful to me and I wish I had this when I first started running games!

Great Book filled with interesting, creative and easy to use Npcs. This book gave me a great idea for a campaign and I will definitely be using many Npcs from the book in my world. 10/10 would recommend! =)

An excellent compendium of npcs to use as soldiers and guards in military campaign to challenge the party. The characters included are also an impressive with their lore and stats and plot hooks on how to use them. Fantastic book and must have for GMs.
