An excellent trap book, useful for making traps interesting and contains all you need to run them, including how to disarm them, something sorely missing from most trap products.

Wonderful supplement. A large variety of traps that I would never have come up with on my own. Solid addition for any GM library.

An amazing book! I just got it and am already using it to plan the perfect traps for my party. It gives everything you need to make traps enjoyable and deadly.

This is my second Nord book, and I am once again impressed.
I have purchased 3rd party trap books in the past, and they both had the same issues- full of super-complex TPK traps that mostly only seemed to fit in a mad mage’s dungeon, or required some hand-waving to work correctly.
This book is what I have wanted for a long time. Some down-to-earth traps, mixed in with magic & complex traps (mechanical, and puzzles) that all have explanations as to how they work, how to disarm them, and some descriptions that go along with them.
The section on making custom traps & random traps is helpful and well-designed also.
I have already been able to easily implement a couple of traps in one of my adventures without a lot of work to fit it in realistically.
Great Job!

Being a Dungeon Master is a lot of work. You can spend hours upon hours in preparing a visually satisfying description of a landscape, threatening dungeon, or mystical creature, study up on stats and figures, and map out the way the players could (or should) go, but completely blank of what kind of traps they could face. Spike pit? Slicing blades? Flame trap? While tried and true, they lose their allure after the third or fourth time used. With this book, not only will you find inspiration to make a wild new trap of your design, you’ll be given examples of traps that make you want to use them immediately in your next session. I can’t recommend this enough!

Great book just typos at the start of the book. For the price I don’t like typos. I hope the rest of the book does not have typos as they seem to have spent a lot of time on this book.

A very impressive book with lots of ideas and examples for traps. My issue in the past has been planning and then executing traps with my players, but this has several ideas that will make a much more impactful experience (with more success as well!).

Wonderful supplement!

I’m clueless when it comes to traps, and as a result I rarely actually run them. This seems like it’ll be a huge help with that little hangup.

This is a great resource! I haven’t had it long but I already have 3 new things to add to my ongoing campaign. This will be one of my most used resources moving forward.

This is awesome! I like the option of having a PDF on my phone as i do a lot of my books in digital format – so handy!

Great book. I like to use this to speed up my planning or even making up a trap on the fly. Highly recommend.

Excellent, running an indiana jones dungeon and plenty of quality traps to choose from and/or make my own. Price is a bit much tho, but many traps for the money

What a wonderful resource for DMs to use in their game planning. I love the variety of traps and the detail on how to disarm the traps. I struggle in this area, so this was a great book to have when creating new spaces for my players to explore.

Honestly it lives up to its claim of being the definitive guide to creating traps, and it looks to be a perfect fit in any GM’s library,
For those in a hurry and need a trap in a pinch their are a large amount of pre-made traps and puzzles that are perfectly organized throughout multiple chapters in order of both CR level and lethality.
Also every premade trap is given a short description, and a description of its trigger’s, effects, and countermeasures needed to disarm it.
For those that have the time and want to make their own dungeons, the book will not only gives them the basics of using traps but also instructs readers on how to design their own traps, puzzles and riddles, as well as give some advice on how to use secrets more effectively in campaigns
For more experienced GMs their is also some advice about making trap and/or puzzle centric dungeons, as well as a full chapter for a Random Trap Generator to help GM’s break habits that end up forming a pattern throughout their adventures.
The main gripe for me is that they should of made making puzzle-centric dungeons its own chapter instead of being only a part of a single but large chapter on puzzles.

Beyond helpful tool. I use it for every adventure that needs some type of a trap. I made a cr rating depending on the difficulty out of the DMG that matches this books traps. Best tool so far for my traps!!

Beautiful book and the layout is fantastic. Each trap comes with some wonderful text to explain how the trap is set up. Very well organized if you want to build a trap ahead of time or use one quickly if your players decide to break into a building randomly. Because that’s definitely not happened to me before! 🙂 I recommend this to any DM that likes to have a few surprises at the ready for their players.

As a DM, I’m thrilled with the book. My players? Probably not so much. 😉

A great supplement for game masters and players, “Treacherous Traps” helps determine which types of traps are best suited by level and desired effects.
Michael Braun-Boghos (verified owner) –
Fantastic supplement for 5e, especially since the amount of info about traps in the DMG is limited.

The Treacherous Traps Book is a lot of fun for the DM of this world. It helped me a lot to prepare my games a lot faster and it also can help create a stressful environment for final encounters or BBEG !
