I’ve owned 3 critical fail decks not including this one and I must admit this one reigns king. The wording is fantastic, the rules are fair, and the design is on par with anything I’ve seen (honestly it’s better). Be wary however, adding this deck to your game without the critical success deck is the worst critical fail.

Gives a bit more flavor and hilarity to rolling a Nat 1, and changes it up each time. So much better than always just missing or hitting the wrong target.
Anton Kritsun (verified owner) –
Cards are great quality and make the game more interesting and quicker than coming up with stuff on the spot.
Chris (verified owner) –
This deck puts some meaning back into rolling a 1.
We’ve had some battles completely change direction because a crit fail has had an unpredictable effect. Great for players and GMs.
Scott Nash (verified owner) –
Critical Fails add a lot of fun to the game. The deck has a good variety of fails and is well worth adding for your gaming days!

I’ve seen several Crit fail decks and this one just seems better. No expert opinion, just that it seems more balanced and fun. Plus the multiple levels makes sure things don’t get out of hand.

Love these cards!
Adds alot of content to your games and will cause alot of epic and funny moments!
Nice touch to have different effects on different weapon types; melee, ranged, natural and spells.
Greatly balanced when it comes to the different level sections the deck is divided in.
Seen loads of critical fail charts but this is one of the better ones!
And it is a high quality deck format.
If you are like me, you want to sleeve the cards for better durability and card size is 63×88.
(Nord Games please add these measurements to descriptions, it helps people like me 🙂 )
This is almost a must if you ask me and you wont regret buying these cards!

WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Amazing quality, great wordsmithing, adds exceptional level of play.
Found NG through a kickstater, company deserves the patronage!
Fast shipping. Highly recommend!

Great additional flavour to add to combat. I like to use these as prompts for myself to come up with lots of different results that my players love!

Holy s*** I purchased this product along with another deck 4 days ago and it just came by right now.
I am from Spain so it usually takes up to a damn month and this guys made it in four days. They must be actual wizards.
The cards are AMAZING by the way.
10/10 on service and product, not even amazon gets me these deals. I am really pleased.

Got this via the KS Campaign, have found it the best of the several I’ve tried.
jolyrogr (verified owner) –
Ok, these cards are so cool! They add so much fun to our play! I cant wait to continue to use them more. Quality is excellent!
randall.b.martin (verified owner) –
Love the cards; they add a lot of fun and fear to the game. The quality of the cards are top-notch. The only drawback I have noticed them is the font on the cards are not recommend for dim lighted games.
MissCass (verified owner) –
These cards have great flavor to them. My only criticism is that many of the effects are dependent on special circumstances (wearing a certain armor, making a specific kind of attack, etc.) Otherwise this is a great deck of cards that I’ll likely be using in my games from now on.
Hyperbeast (verified owner) –
As someone running two campaigns at different levels, I like the Tiers the cards offer. I can keep things less dangerous for my newbie campaign while punishing my veteran campaign.
Toonkid –
Sometimes it’s hard to come up with a quick unfortunate event when that dreaded 1 rolls itself up. Sometimes it can be a slap on the wrist all the way to them losing their entire hand. This deck makes it easy to come up with a Critical Fail that won’t have players or DMs questioning if that 1 that popped up will be the bane of the session.
hadoftw (verified owner) –
The cards come in multiple ranges of severity, so you can influence what kinds of events will come up by removing the undesired effects before they players start drawing. Overall very satisfied!
Soulspinner (verified owner) –
This deck has added a lot of flavor to the game. No longer just a boring fail. You never know what you are going to suffer! I highly urge you to purchase.
nchezrony (verified owner) –
If you are going to use Nord’s Critical Sucess deck, then you NEED this deck to balance out the game. These cards add so much to the game, forcing the players and the DM to have to rethink strategies when a “1” comes up.
Blackheartbouvi (verified owner) –
The critical fail deck has been amazing. My players always hold their breath as I draw them.
Jsetzler (verified owner) –
Love this deck. Adds a very amusing (and terrifying) aspect to crit fails. Players love to see what happens to them. It’s usually worth a laugh, and occasionally a tear. Lol.
Paul Koenig (verified owner) –
Bought these for my DM (Bribe?). Add just enough chrome to the game for a little fun. Nice that pull cards by level.
ilta (verified owner) –
Love this deck. Fun effects that can really add a level of uniqueness to play.
In one memorable encounter, our spellcaster crit-failed casting a spell against a zombie; the card said that this caused the target to switch bodies with the nearest creature until one or the other was unconscious. Of course, the zombie was at the time engaged in melee with the barbarian, who promptly found himself shambling around inside the zombie, while the zombie found himself inside a barbarian, until the end of the fight.
The barbarian chose to never explain the temporary body-switch to the party, who to this day believe in-character that when you hit zombies with arrows they sometimes go crazy and attack one another (the barbarian attacking everything with no regard for his own safety is, of course, completely unremarkable as far as they are concerned).
5 stars, would have my players enact Freaky Friday during a fight again.
raphael02 (verified owner) –
Suddenly rolling a one on a check actually means something, giving real stakes to every roll. Definitely worth a buy!
raphael02 (verified owner) –
Another great product, spicing up combat by adding risk to every roll.
wsarazin –
This is my favorite critical fail deck and works incredibly for heroes and monsters alike! A lot more cinematic flavor outside of an auto-miss that shows a flow to battle.
birdless (verified owner) –
I really like the extra flavor this gives to a campaign! And I like that I don’t have to figure out all of these things myself.
Vyrelion –
Great concept and good quality, it was my first kickstarter.
However i found they tended to slow the game down a bit so i ended up not using them.

This scares everyone!
Must have for GM’s and Players alike!
caelumira333 (verified owner) –
Quality cards that the players dread pulling.
jreed8005 (verified owner) –
My players love that they get to ‘choose their own fate’ and insist on drawing a card on crit fails. Love the deck!

Nothing says ‘Critical Fail’ like hitting yourself in the face.
RDPray –
I was given this a while back, its great – player fumbles their roll during an attack or you do and this deck adds a nice bit of random consequences. Sometimes funny, sometimes disturbing, but always great.
smgrajeda (verified owner) –
I really enjoy not having to think about what happens to my PCs when they fail miserably!
Jehrid (verified owner) –
I had been looking for a way to improvise better critical failures. I felt like before buying this I wasn’t the ‘fairest’ with my players, or would just do stupid things like “You dropped your weapon”. Now with this deck it’s one less piece of the game I have to make up on the fly.
Desknight (verified owner) –
Let’s be honest, “you missed” is B-O-R-I-N-G, so now you can have simulations for shock, getting crippled, or invoking other status effects. Each tied to a different type of damage so you have 4 choices on each card to ensure you’re not locked into an awkward RP scenario.
Good quality, well thought out, worth the purchase. Use it only if you want to be a try hard or play at a higher difficulty. It’s worth it, but be aware that’s what you’re doing.
Johnnycool18 (verified owner) –
This deck does spice up rolling a 1 in combat. I no longer have to roll to hit companions, most of the time. I like the variety of effects. Use the Luck Deck for out of combat 1’s.
KingCheops (verified owner) –
Adds some sting to rolling 1’s instead of just missing. Be aware that some classes will barely ever use this while others will a lot. Advantage means almost never critically missing.
Spiorad915 (verified owner) –
These have made crit 1s much easier, and added a lot of hilarious occurances and great roleplaying moments.
Greg Trombley (verified owner) –
Great product. The cards are even labeled for severity in case you want to easily tone them down.
Jason Reynolds (verified owner) –
The first serious game I played, the DM would make up amusing things that would happen when you crit failed. Your bow string would snap, you’d shoot your ally, you’d drop your sword, etc. It’s hard to always be creative though. These great cards do it for you.
vnavone (verified owner) –
We’ve really enjoyed using these in our campaigns. It definitely increases the stakes and the tension when someone rolls a 1! My only complaint is with the graphics and layout. The text can be a bit hard to read, it’s not easy to identify the correct damage type on the card, and the card backs don’t tell you what deck it is. This can be a problem if you also have the crit hit decks for DMs and players, as we do. Other than that the quality is good and the bonuses enhance play.
AMR HELMI (verified owner) –
I have been using this deck with my players for a few sessions now, and they love it!!! This deck allows for much more interesting results than the typical ‘you miss’ or ‘you drop your weapon’. They really allow for a DM to get a bit more creative as well giving an easy jumping off point if you want to make things more interesting. As an example, one of my player’s critical misses ended up animating a dead worg after the battle was over, I had the beast chasing them over the course of a long adventure, popping up at inopportune times.
DGDullahan (verified owner) –
This has been a new favorite addition at my table. I highly recommend this to any player or DM/GM that might be interested.
FilthyPeasant (verified owner) –
Great companion to the critical hit decks.
Sam Ward –
After having so much fun with the critical hit deck it was a no-brainer to add the critical failure deck to the mix. I think I was letting my players get away too easy with rolling a natural one, I was also being a little generic with, oh you fumbled your weapon again kind of response, so now I let them choose their own fate! with this deck it takes the heat off me and puts it on the guys at Nord…
Russel miner (verified owner) –
This was my first purchase from Nord Games – a go-to for all my DM crit fail rolls – both mine and my players. This is so much fun!
Russel miner (verified owner) –
this pdf is just a bit handier than a deck as i do most of my DM books via electronica
Daniel Hafeneder (verified owner) –
A good deck with some fun and interesting ideas. Some of them are a little too harsh imho. But well, you can tone them down 🙂
Brandon Martin (verified owner) –
This is the first critical fail deck I have purchased, but used similar resources in the past. I really like having the physical deck that allows my players and I to draw from the same pool of options. The range of punishment is always entertaining and interesting .Great product!
Bragi11 (verified owner) –
So much dynamic, after i bought this deck
TankDroid0620 (verified owner) –
What this deck brings to the table is wonderful, the hilarity and diverse situations my players have found themselves has always left my table laughing. The only thing I wish was that I had a PDF copy so since I play mostly online.
Reifier (verified owner) –
Can’t wait to run with this deck and the critical success deck with my players; it will definitely help prod my imagination and storytelling on those game nights after a long day at work.
Dwayne Hartin (verified owner) –
These are so fun to use. I bought all 3. The DM fail, Player fail and crit. My groups get excited to roll % on natural 20’s from these and even have to roll on 1’s lol. Mistakes happen!!
hoho-jijo (verified owner) –
The critical fail deck gives some great extra “something” to our adventures. Especially when playing with new players, they are able to interact and get more into character, while sometimes laughing and often commiserating with each other after a battle.
Shane Smith (verified owner) –
Fun addition to the game play, for youth and adults alike. Saves the guess work and imagination to critical fails.

This Critical Fails Deck is really original and I would highly recommend it. It is reusable and more “fairplay” than what you can find for free online.
