Are you tired of trying to make undead creatures like skeletons, zombies, and ghouls seem like more than just trash mobs and cannon fodder? Trying to breathe new (un)life into vampires to allow them to feel more varied? Want to throw a weird humanoid amalgamation of person and animal at your party just to make them go "WTF"? Well have I got a product for you!

This book allows you to make trash tier mobs into a force to be reckoned with, and scale down usual bosses into something closer to an underling if needed. It adds variety to your standard Skeleton with sword #1 named Jimithy who likes long shambling walks in dark crypts and being killed in three hits by adventurers. Ever wanted loads of kinds of wisps? Want to have spectors that are terrifying? Need to make a lich pretty low leveled? This book has your back. It also lets you have the resources to know how to turn players into vampires, werecreatures , revenants, and more! Hopefully with prior consent to have it as a possibility; always respect your players.

My main gripe is that zombies in particular are very one-note. Yes, you have zombies with varied abilities based on the race that the corpse is, but its a bit limited and bland to me. It's a minor gripe, and certainly a personal opinion that I can as a DM fix to create more varied versions of these new zombies, but something I still noticed enough to mention. Even still, if you plan on having lots of undead in your game and want something to give them that fresh, brand new rotting corpse smell, at minimum I suggest the PDF. As with all books from Nord, the hardcover is absolutely impeccably made. The pages have that nice clean finish and glossy feel, the art is fantastic, and it again sits beautifully beside the official books in the same height range. If you have a physical library of D&D supplements like I do, it makes a great addition.
